What is Ayurveda?
Simply, Ayurveda means ‘the science of life’, detailed in the Vedic sacred texts as ayus (‘long life’) and arogya (‘diseaselessness’)
The ancient self-healing practices of Ayurveda include a holistic approach to maintaining balanced living.
In the body, the five elements (air, ether, fire, water and earth) become biological elements and are grouped into three energies known as doshas or body types.
Health is achieved by balancing the doshas at all levels, according to an individual’s constitution, lifestyle and nature.
The VATA dosha is made of air and ether
The PITTA dosha is made of fire and water
The KAPHA dosha is made of earth and water
Ayurveda from time immemorial, has focused on anti-aging and rejuvenation programs to prevent disease and to maintain an optimum healthy state.
All treatments promote detoxification, good health, longevity and spiritual enrichment
A toxin-free internal system is reflected externally with glowing skin, bright eyes and healthy limbs
If the ojas (the subtle quality of vigour or vitality) is strong and the life force is flowing freely, a person looks dynamic, vigorous and well cared for.
A before-Ayurvedic treatment questionnaire helps clarify which doshas dominate in your body to determine your predominate constitution and to bring the body back into balance.
The body has the innate intelligence to heal itself and Ayurveda simply helps with the healing process to rejuvenate the body, sooth the mind and nurture the spirit.
Rasayana Treats
All Yoga and Ayurvedic sessions include a rasayana (rejuvenating) pot of tea.
Morning or afternoon tea, or lunch, is prepared according to Ayurvedic principles and is taken at the conclusion of treatments or sessions.
